Meaning of “Good Lookin’” by Dixon Dallas
“Good Lookin’” is a song that officially hit the marketplace on 30 June 2023, being distributed via DistroKid. Concurrently Dixon Dallas, who is also known as iAmJakeHill, is a musician on the rise in a manner of speaking, in that he doesn’t have a Wikipedia page for instance. Rather, he’s more of a social-media based artist who has a notable presence on platforms such as Instagram and TikTok, with his account on the latter boasting over half a million followers.

The Lyrics of “Good Lookin’”
“Good Lookin’” has been dubbed “the Gay Country Song” by some listeners. But perhaps it could’ve been more accurately called ‘the Gay Sex Country Song’, as the lyrics aren’t as much romantic in nature, as they highlight more the physical side of the relationship between the vocalist and addressee.
Or put otherwise, this is your standard contemporary lovemaking/sex song with one major twist. And that is having a male vocalist likewise using male gender pronouns to refer to the addressee.
And on one hand, in reading these lyrics, it’s understandable why mainstream gay artists, with the exception of Lil Nas X to some extent, never go as far as to drop a sex song with wording as overt as this one.
In this day and age, homosexuality is more widely accepted than it’s ever been. But still, it would take many listeners some getting used to hearing a man not only express his romantic love to another in song but also go about graphically detailing their sex life, as Dixon does in “Good Lookin’”.
This includes the singer noting his affinity for when his partner “kisses on (his) bussy” which, to be frank, is another word for a man’s a**s. The title of the song alludes to how physically attractive the addressee is in the vocalist’s eyes. But that actual lyrics are more, let’s say lust-oriented, i.e. said physical attraction being manifested primarily via sexual desire.
“He’s bouncing off my booty cheeks, I love the way he rides
I can hardly breathe when he’s pumping deep inside
I kiss him on his neck and then he kisses on my bussy
Call him ‘Daddy’ while I holler, man, that boy so damn good looking (Looking, looking, looking)”
All in all, it’ll be interesting to see if Dallas ever gets around to achieving the type of mainstream notoriety he seems to be vying for dropping songs like this one. Of course being an indie artist affords him a level of lyrical freedom that mainstreamers don’t possess. But at this point, it’s probably just a matter of time before a more generally-recognized musician gets around to dropping a song like this also.
