The Lyrics “24/7, 365”
Of course what the title of this track alludes to is an entire year, broken down to 365 days, which is made up of weeks consisting of 7 days, with each day being 24 hours long. We often come across such terminology in song, within the context of the vocalist using it to point to the idea that his love for his significant other is ever-present.
And as plainly relayed in the chorus so it is in this case also, which said chorus actually features a bunch of numerical references meant to buttress the idea that the singer is indeed into the addressee.
So along those lines, the first verse into the pre-chorus then goes about serving the purpose of Elijah expressing his desire to, most simply put, marry his sweetheart and start a family with her, i.e. by with her for life, and he’s hoping that she feels the same about him. And the second verse goes about illustrating Woods’ stance that he is indeed committed, willing to share his all with the addressee as well as steadily serving as her physical and emotional support.
So in closing, “24/7, 365” proves to be the type of song one would expect with a title like this one. Indeed, from a lyrical standpoint this piece is more reminiscent of the love songs of old in that for instance it doesn’t feature any sexual or NSFW references.
