Arose by Eminem

Featured in the 2017 album “Revival”, “Arose” is a deeply personal song co-written by Eminem, Luis Resto, and Danny Tannenbaum. In the song, Eminem reflects on his near-death experience from an overdose in 2007. He imagines his own funeral and writes a farewell letter to his daughters, expressing regret for leaving them prematurely.

Fun Fact: “Revival” was Eminem’s ninth studio album and it showcased a wide array of collaborations with artists from different genres, including Ed Sheeran, Beyoncé, and Pink.

The track “Arose” is uniquely paired with another song on the album, “Castle”. Both tracks are deeply connected, telling the story of Eminem’s struggles and his love for his daughters. When played back-to-back, they provide a cohesive narrative.
