Something by Beatles
Something came out on the same day as Come Together, which is September 26, 1969. It’s also from the Abbey Road album. Something is really special because it was written by George Harrison, who was one of the guitar players in the band. While many of the Beatles’ big hits were written by John Lennon and Paul McCartney, this song showed that George was an amazing songwriter too!
George once said that he was inspired to write Something after hearing another song on a music album. But, here’s a cute fact: He also said that he wrote it for his wife at the time, Pattie Boyd. The song talks about being in love and thinking that someone is just so wonderful that they make your heart skip a beat.
Back to the Abbey Road album for a moment. Apart from having super cool songs, this album is also special because it was the last one where all four Beatles worked together in the studio. It’s kind of bittersweet, but they definitely left us with some great tunes!
