“Грустная Песня (Sad Song)” by Thrill Pill (ft. Egor Creed & Alisher Morgenshtern)
“Грустная Песня (Sad Song)” is a Russian rap song based on the age-old hip-hop theme of women sweating artists for their money and fame. For instance, Thrill Pill has indeed picked up a hot chick whose down to return to his hotel. But he’s not letting the scenario go to his head, as he is thoroughly convinced that she “wants money” and perceives him as a means of acquiring some.
And his homeys harp on a similar theme. For example, Egor Creed has similar romantic interests who just want to be close to him as a means of using his celebrity for their own social-media purposes. And he likewise hooks up with a girl whom at first he seems compelled to believe she really like him. But that is ‘until he realizes that the [expletive] wants money’.
Meanwhile Morgenshtern raps more along the lines of not being startled by this reality. Rather he uses such females’ desire for cash and the fact that he has plenty for his own selfish purposes. And ultimately that can be considered the overall theme of “Sad Song”. The artists may be a little unsettled by the fact that none of the ladies they interact with seem to be genuine. But they’re not going to let such stand in way of them scoring a quick, easy goal.
