“Name on It” by Shaed
For all intents and purposes, this appears to be a bedroom fun song. Having your “name on” something is a colloquialism which means that said individual controls what he is said to have his “name on”. And in this case, let’s just say that overall what the singer is referring to is the addressee having control of her body. So to be totally frank, the female singer is basically inviting the male addressee to jump on top of her.
But there is more to the lyrics than that. For it would seem that despite this open invitation, the addressee is hesitant to make a move. And the singer is attributing his apprehensiveness to fear. Indeed it seems that she ‘doubts’ if anything will actually transpire between the two of them at all. And by the end of the song, her frustrations in that regard are quite palpable.
So for whatever undisclosed reason, in this particular case the singer’s romantic interest does not seem overly-anxious to take advantage of her. And this is despite the fact that he’s being given a straight-up green light to do so. And the ways she sees the situation is that he is just shook. Or rather let’s say that she’s offended he seems uninterested. So we can make two alternate presumptions concerning how this story will ultimately end. Either he is actually going to give her what she demands. Or he’s going to let the opportunity pass him by and resultantly have to deal with one pissed off girlfriend.

Conclusion
So as aforementioned, this is in fact a song centered on bedroom fun. But one of the aspects of “name on it” that makes it unique is that in this case the female is the aggressor – even though she doesn’t necessarily want to be. Moreover it can even be said that this song encapsulates the frustrations some ladies have expressed when a date decides not to be intimate with them despite the occasion being ripe to do so.
