“Money Over Fallouts” by Tory Lanez
Tory Lanez dropped “Money Over Fallouts” in response to a wide held belief that he shot a fellow, female musician named Megan Thee Stallion. These allegations have cost him in terms of his public image and career. And whereas Tory has denied actually being the one who pulled the trigger, the purpose of this track is not to defend himself per se. Rather its primary function is twofold.
On one hand he is trying to convince Megan herself that he didn’t do it. And yes, in a roundabout way it can be deduced that he is seeking sympathy from the listening public also. But in that latter regard, he is also letting haters know that despite his image being smeared due to this incident, he is still making it and living large.
So it can be said that the rapper is addressing Thee Stallion as well as various types of people who have developed issues with him over the aforementioned shooting. And conclusively what the title stands for is apparently the artist prioritizing the acquisition of money over getting caught up in interpersonal conflicts.
This is the opening track from Tory’s album “DAYSTAR”. The song was released by a record label he founded called One Umbrella in September 2020.
Tory wrote “Money Over Fallouts” on his own, and the track’s production squad consists of the following:
- Basscharity
- Chaz Jackson
- Dez Wright
- Michael S. Romero
- Foreign Teck
