“I Need You Christmas” by Jonas Brothers

As of the release of “I Need You Christmas”, the Jonas Brothers have already established an over-decade long tradition of releasing songs for Christmas, having done so four times prior. But of course 2020, with the coronavirus and social distancing and all, has proven to be a unique year in an awful sort of way. So what the singers are basically saying in this song is that they “need” Christmas this season in particular. Or viewed alternatively, they “miss” the simple joy of being able to freely spend the holidays with their loved ones.

So accordingly, this track has a nostalgic sentiment behind it. But conclusively, no matter what’s going on the Jonas Brothers are looking forward to Christmas, as it represents a standard and happiness which even the ‘changing seasons’ cannot desist. And along those same lines, they are also wishing that the listeners enjoy their own “Merry Christmas”.

Production and Writing

I Need You Christmas was produced by Greg Kurstin, who also laid down piano on the track. He was joined in that regard by Kevin Jonas. And the other two Jonas Brothers, Joe and Nick, provided the vocals.

All three Jonas Brothers also wrote this song, with the other co-writers being Marc Sibley, Nathan Cunningham, Joel Castillo and another pair of brothers, Riley and Connor McDonough.

Release Date of “I Need You Christmas”

Republic Records released this track as a standalone single on the 30th of October 2020.
