“Cola” by CamelPhat and Elderbrook
CamelPhat and Elderbrook’s “Cola” is about a female character who reads like a clubhead. Using a bit of imagination, the narrative details her typical night out on the town. On top of dancing, she also apparently likes drama. By virtue of this, getting into it with disagreeable bouncers seems like a regular occurrence in her life. Also one of her main characteristics, as spied by the vocalist, is that “she sips the Coca-Cola”, thus explaining the title of this song.

Is there a source for this? I have always interpreted the lyrics as if the person telling the story thinks of the girl as basically „looking for trouble“ (as in that stereotypical alpha male a$$hole behaviour, be it because of the clothes she’s wearing or just because she looks pretty) and dancing in a way he sees as provocative to basically justify why he just put something in her drink which she hasn’t realized yet but will soon.
For me these are incredibly dark lyrics but unfortunately with a big portion of realism in them.
I thought the same. I heard this song long time ago, but just now I realized the lyrics. I think is deffo about dropping something in a girl’s drink. If that’s the case, pretty disgusting if you ask me. Please stand up for this kind of acts……not cool at all
Nope, she is taking Ghb on her own, if it was dropped in her drink she wouldn’t know to not mix with alcohol
Chill man being alpha and being a molester is 2 different things…
Maybe it’s Pepsi ? ….
I think you’ll find that the cola referred to isn’t a drink. A certain product (MDMA) enjoyed by clubbers is know as cola due to it’s colour when it’s of a high quality.
It’s talking about GHB, Hands down and how people behave on it
This song is talking about a club drug called GHB, (aka date rape drug). She is taking it herself, hence drinking coca cola, as you can’t mix with alcohol. The behavior is classic symptom of injecting the liquid, as it inhibits the inhibitions more than alcohol does
