“Love Language” by Queen Naija

The concept of love languages sang throughout this song is a direct reference to Gary Chapman’s book on The Five Love Languages. Said book explains that people have different love languages and an awareness of each other’s unique language can go a long way in keeping a couple together. As seen in the lyrics, the singer expresses her dissatisfaction at her lover for not paying much attention to her and not even being aware of her love language.

Her constant demand for his undivided attention and for his physical presence and intimacy signifies that the singer’s love languages are quality time and physical touch. This is made clearer in the second verse when she tells him she doesn’t need to hear more words but needs him to act on his words and spend more time vibing with her. The song ends with the singer requesting that her lover treats her more affectionately and intimately so she can in turn treat him better.

Produced by Boston and Mike Woods, this song was written by Queen Naija, Michael McCall and Michael Woods. It was released on October 16, 2020 as the seventh track on her 2020 album titled, misunderstood.
