“Somewhere Without Me” by Peg Parnevik
It has been deduced that “Somewhere Without Me” is about Peg Parnevik’s currently-troubled romance with one Filip Lamprecht, someone whom she’s been dating since 2017. The both of them are social media stars, and apparently the associated spotlight has been a negative factor on their union.
So at this point, as reported by gossip sites, she has already moved on to another beau. So if the theory is correct that Peg is addressing Filip, then the purpose of the verses are to illustrate the issues she has had with him. The title/chorus, on the other hand, detail her overall emotional reaction to the matter at hand.

And concerning said verses, they do in fact read as if the vocalist and addressee have already broken up, with the latter being at fault. Or as put forth, he basically bounced on her with no notice.
Or stated alternatively, he decided to dump Peg but “didn’t have the guts to say it to (her) face”, instead vanishing like a thief in the night. And taking all facts into consideration, even though this piece may be based on her relationship with Filip, it may not be so literally like word-for-word.
For instance, Parnevik somewhat confusingly references a “six year anniversary” therein. And the reason we say confusingly is because it’s not clear if she’s actually talking about her romance with the addressee. But if so, well, as implied above she and Filip haven’t really gotten close to the six year mark yet.
So getting more to the main point, this is one of those songs where the female is suffering emotionally in the aftermath of a breakup, while the dude has ‘barely broken a sweat’. So the title is fundamentally centered on Parnevik admitting to herself that, most simply put, the addressee doesn’t desire to have her around.
All in all
So if this song is in fact about Filip Lamprecht, it doesn’t really paint a pleasant picture of him. Indeed in the bridge, Peg states that “they don’t even know you like I do”. We will take this as being her way of insinuating that whereas the addressee may appear one way, i.e. innocent, to the public, he isn’t actually so when being dealt with on a more intimate level.
But that said, the vocalist is “still in love” with him and is trying to mend their relationship accordingly.
And this is another part of the song which comes off as if it may not actually be based on real life since, as stated earlier, it would appear that Peg really didn’t have any major issues in moving on from Filip.
Peg Parnevik and “Somewhere Without Me”
Peg Parnevik is a singer and television personality who currently lives in Florida. However, she co-stars on a reality TV show called Parneviks which, despite being filmed from her family home in the Sunshine States is actually aired in Sweden, i.e. Peg’s land of ancestry.
And she got her foot in the door of the mainstream entertainment world by being the daughter of Jesper Parnevik, a professional golfer who was one of the best in the sport in the world around the turn of the century.
As alluded to earlier, Peg has also been able to put together a notable discography, which in her case dates back to 2016. And again, she may be virtually unknown stateside, but Parnevik appears to be pretty well-known in Sweden.
For instance, her debut single, Ain’t No Saint (2016), which remains her most successful song to date, reached number two in said country.
Meanwhile “Somewhere Without Me” was released on 2 September 2021. And it is the lead single to her forthcoming EP. It appears that EP would be Peg’s second after 2017’s Don’t Tell Ma.
As of the release date of “Somewhere Without Me”, the title of the said project is not available.
