“Stupid” by Ashnikko (ft. Yung Baby Tate)
Ashnikko’s “Stupid” is a modern-day bad girl rap song. The title is based on the artists proclaiming that certain male associates who are under the impression that the ladies need them are actually “stupid” for thinking so.
In other words, they’re not emotionally or even physically dependent on any dude. Rather Yung Baby Tate implies that there’s a bevy of men at her beck and call, if she desires intimate satisfaction. And Ashnikko basically disses guys who are sensually infatuated with her. Indeed she touts herself as someone who uses men and even possesses the wherewithal to excommunicate romantic associates at a moment’s notice. And the concluding sentiment is that instead of falling for ‘stupid boys’, the artists are more interested in a partner who is able to edify and monetarily enrich their lives. Simply put, these girls don’t want no broke lovers (which reminds us of TLC’s classic hit “No Scrubs“.
