“Where the Poison Is” by FINNEAS

The American President as of the release date of this track, Donald Trump, is extremely popular or unpopular, depending on your perspective. Or stated otherwise he’s someone whom many people love to hate. In fact in the aftermath of the Donald being voted out of office in early-November 2020, a song dissing him, which dates back to 2016, is actually number one on iTunes.

And such, an anti-Trump sentiment is what Finneas is putting forth on “Where the Poison Is”. Apparently, the metaphorical poison ultimately points to the idea of Trump’s presidency having been a toxic one. And the singer means so quite literally, as he basically blames the proliferation of the coronavirus in America on the Trump Administration. Moreover, he goes as far as to actually refer to President Trump as “a snake”, thus making the listener allegorically aware of “where the poison” actually lies.

But there is a deeper meaning behind this tune. And obviously, even with the recent election of a new President, Finneas is not overly-enthused about the future of America.  Indeed he is looking forward to more “school shootings” and a continued “climate crisis” in the coming days. And the vocalist even expresses what seems to be his desire to relocate outside of the country altogether.

Facts about “Where the Poison Is”

Finneas is of course both wrote and produced “Where the Poison Is”, as he does with virtually all of his tracks. And he released the song on 7 November 2020. That was around the same time it was announced that Joe Biden had bested Donald Trump in the 2020 US Presidential Election.

Finneas acknowledged the release of this song on his Twitter account. And he also used that opportunity to mock Donald Trump with a catchphrase the Donald himself made famous, “You’re fired.”

The singer is known for being a supporter of Biden. And the same goes for his more-famous little sister, Billie Eilish.
