“Why Worry” by Isaiah Rashad
The premise of “Why Worry” features the rapper (Isaiah Rashad) expounding on various stressors in his life. For instance, he seems to be preoccupied with his cashflow, as in ‘worried about his M’s’, i.e. his millions. And the lyrics in the first verse also point to the idea that family members may be mooching off of him. Likewise female companionship is one of the permeating themes throughout. And in that regard, Rashad also seems to be saying that his romantic interest(s) has a tendency to try to take advantage of him, although such may be a result of her naïveté as opposed to a genuine desire to exploit him. But the chorus points to the general notion that perhaps certain individuals are indeed after his money.
Yet either way what all of this is apparently supposed to lead the listener back to is the title. Or stated otherwise, Isaiah is not going to let these multitude of troubling factors actually worry him. Instead it would seem that his primary concern is staying on his grind, making bread and just chillin’ as much as possible.
