“Honey I’m Home” by McFly
It reads as if, most notably as implied via the usage of the term “honey”, that the vocalist is addressing his significant other and that this is furthermore a love song. And ultimately, even though the lyrics are a bit creative, it isn’t saying anything that we haven’t heard before in that regard. That is to say that the wording ultimately serves the purpose of letting said addressee know that she plays a vital role in the vocalist’s life.
Or as Tom Fletcher puts it, no matter where life may lead him, it is when he’s with his honeybun that he knows he’s truly at home. And he appears to be making this assertion or admittance to reinforce in the addressee’s mind that there isn’t any possibility of him ever deserting her.
