Meaning of “Rolling Girl” by Wowaka (ft. Hatsune Miku)
The subject of this song is referred to as “rolling girl” because, as presented in the lyrics, she is always on the move, chasing one dream or another.
Earlier in the song that characteristic reads almost as if it is an attribute, i.e. rolling girl possessing a never-say-die spirit. But as the story progresses, it becomes discernible that maybe the vocalist is concerned about her. In other words, by the time all is said and done, rolling girl comes off as if maybe she has too much ambition coupled with too little intelligence.
But that said, the lyrics do conclude on a cliffhanger. It is never revealed whether or not rolling girl reaches her promised land. However, it is implied that attempting to do so is sort of her never-satiated modus operandi nonetheless.
Basically the subject reads like the type of person who perhaps derives more thrill from the journey than the destination. So as long as there’s some type of adventure to pursue which speaks to her heart, rolling girl is down to go for it.
